Landscaped Gardens

At Lighthouse Lodge Care Home in Merseyside, our landscaped gardens give residents a peaceful outdoor space where they can enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and unhurried time with the people who matter most. Our gardens are carefully maintained so they look welcoming throughout the year, with clear paths, planted areas and plenty of seating. We understand how much benefit time outdoors can bring, whether that is a quiet stroll or simply sitting and listening to the sounds around you. Our aim is to make the gardens feel like an extension of our home and a place where residents can feel close to nature and spend their time in a way that suits them.

Safe and Welcoming Outdoor Spaces

Our gardens are designed to be easy to access from within the home, so residents do not have far to go if they wish to step outside. Paths are laid out to be clear and level, with seating positioned at regular intervals so residents can move at their own pace and pause for a rest whenever they choose. Planting is chosen to provide interest across the seasons, with colour and scent helping to bring the outdoor areas to life.

We know that feeling secure is just as important as enjoying the view, so the gardens are enclosed and thoughtfully arranged to support residents, including those living with dementia. There are quieter corners for those who prefer a calm spot, as well as more open areas where people can sit together and chat. Families are welcome to join residents in the garden, which often becomes a favourite place for visits and shared drinks.

Enjoying Nature and Gentle Activity

Many of our residents make use of our garden to feel the breeze and watch the changing light. Others like to walk a short route around our home or enjoy some afternoon tea. Our team encourages residents to make use of the space in ways that feel comfortable, whether that is first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon.

For those who are interested, we offer opportunities to get involved in light gardening activities, such as watering pots or planting bulbs. These small tasks can be very rewarding, especially for residents who have enjoyed gardening in the past and want to keep that connection. In the summer months, we often bring elements of our activities programme outside to ensure the perfect blend of fun and well-being.

Life at Lighthouse Lodge Care Home

We want everything we do at Lighthouse Lodge to be driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of our residents. In order to do this, we make sure that we get to know all our residents and their loved ones personally, not just when they arrive, but consistently throughout their stay. By understanding our residents’ interests and stories, we are able to tailor their journey to be as rich and fulfilling as possible.

High-Quality Care Tailored To You

At Lighthouse Lodge, we provide first-class levels of residential, dementia and respite care. Our care teams will work as closely as possible with you and your loved ones to create a care plan tailored specifically to you, which is reviewed on a regular basis. We want the care you receive to be reflective of who you are as an individual beyond your care needs so we always closely collaborate with residents and their family members to make this possible.
