My Mother in law has been a resident of Lighthouse Lodge for four weeks. Lighthouse Lodge is an ultra-smart, purpose-built care home, with wonderful views overlooking the River Mersey. The outstanding facilities are equally matched by the outstanding care provided by the staff. From the management team, through to the whole of the healthcare and catering staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for residents and families alike. Lighthouse Lodge has raised the bar for standards of care in the UK and has quickly become a sanctuary of care and kindness for its fortunate residents. Thank you all for everything you are doing for my Mum-in-Law.

The staff at Lighthouse Lodge are wonderful. They have gone above and beyond for my nan and it is really clear that they care for their residents and take the time to get to know them. There are plenty of activities happening each week and with the modern decor, you would never know you are in a care home. In spite of her dementia, my nan has made some friends and is fairly settled at Lighthouse Lodge. The staff go out of their way to make sure my Nan is happy and entertained and I can now sleep more easily knowing she is safe and in company.

My Mum has been at Lighthouse Lodge for a year now and we are all delighted with the care she has received. The facility is beautiful and the staff are so caring. Mum struggled for two years with in-home care due to dementia and other mental health issues and in the end, there was no alternative but to move her to full-time care. I certainly wish we had been able to take Mum to Lighthouse Lodge earlier, her mental health has stabilised, she is so much healthier and happier now. As my brother and I live overseas it is difficult to stay in touch but staff regularly post pictures and video updates of all the activities they have every day - looks like everyone is having fun and is happy. The staff also initiate face time calls with Mum and I, which is really lovely. Thanks so much to all of the team for taking care of Mum, we know it can’t be easy especially in these challenging times.

My mum came to Lighthouse Lodge initially for a two-week stay while I was away on holiday - at 93, she had been just about managing for a while with carers calling in to see her at home a few times a day but I was worried about leaving her while I was out of the country. After a two week stay, it was clear that she was far better off at Lighthouse Lodge - it's a lovely environment with bright, airy rooms and en suite bathrooms. The communal areas are beautifully furnished and decorated, but more importantly, is how great the staff are and the daily activities that are arranged for the residents. The care is second to none - and the fact that there's always something going on that the residents can join in with (if they want to) has meant my mum has really blossomed in this environment.

My mum went into Lighthouse Lodge in early June as she was struggling at home. She settled in very quickly. The staff were brilliant with her and looked after her very well. There were various activities available each day that she joined in with and it was very helpful to my Dad to be able to talk to her regularly on FaceTime and to see the pictures of her on Facebook. I would not hesitate to recommend Lighthouse Lodge to any family considering care for their loved ones.

We looked at a few places before deciding on the Lighthouse Lodge for my 85-year-old dad. He was admitted at short notice, and the manager was very accommodating and made it a smooth transition. The place itself is lovely, very clean, with bright airy lounges and large bedrooms, but it is the staff that makes the place special. They have all made an effort to get to know my dad as a person and go out of their way to respect his wishes and ensure he is happy and looked after. Residents are encouraged to bring their own possessions and make their rooms feel like home. The staff are relaxed and always welcoming. We visit every day, and you really feel part of a community. Lighthouse Lodge provides many activities for its residents, music, crafts, visits from schools, fetes, quizzes, trips to the pub, which has helped my dad get to know other residents.

Since moving to Lighthouse Lodge my father's general well-being and health have improved immensely. He is in a stimulating environment, with excellent care. As a consequence of the very good food, my father has put the weight back on that he had lost whilst in hospital and at an unsatisfactory care home in Liverpool. Within his first week, my father had his very first art lesson with one of the very friendly and capable Activity Coordinators. In addition to the art lessons, my father enjoys outings, movie/music afternoons, and the gardening club. He has even been spotted joining in with the exercise groups. He regards all his carers as family and best friends. His dementia had isolated him, but since arriving at Lighthouse Lodge he has made friends and this is a big thing for him, he shares his jelly babies and chocolate with them. My mother is so happy with how his life has changed for the better, and this week is moving into a room on the top floor to be close to him again.

We can't recommend Lighthouse Lodge highly enough. Mum has been a resident since February and her quality of life has improved so much. Mum is happy and contented, her room is lovely, the staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. There is always something going on, singers, artists, knitting, gardening to name but a few. Lighthouse Lodge has a wonderful family feel and we are so happy we found it!

We are delighted with the care and attention that both my parents receive here. The staff are very attentive and are always pleasant and polite with my parents, my sisters and I. I now have peace of mind knowing that they are being cared for as they should be. The fact that the building is light and airy with beautiful furnishings is an added bonus!
