The Amazing Audrey

A life full of love and kindness, Audrey has had a beautiful life with friends and family by her side. Audrey was born in Yorkshire back in the 1930s, she loved this county as there was beautiful countryside for miles!

Despite the fact that Audrey enjoyed school, she was unable to pass grammar school. Therefore, she attended a local private school to learn how to type. This skill allowed her to obtain her first job as a shorthand typist and bookkeeper, and even though it was a small office, she absolutely loved it!

During her time, Audrey met a lot of friends, but there was one that she will always remember,  and that was Susan. She remembers Susan as a very kind person with a “nice heart”, so they were friends for a very long time.

Later on in life, Audrey retired with her husband in the North West. They enjoyed an easy and simple life together, visiting local cafes and they would occasionally drive to Wales together. However, the cafes were always a favourite of Audrey’s.

Among the many things she accomplished in her life, having her son, Robbie, and learning to drive were the two things she was proud of the most.

Life at Lighthouse Lodge

Now Audrey, who is 87, is comfortably living at Lighthouse Lodge where she can’t give any complaints, only compliments! Audrey spends most of her time boogying and smiling with friends she’s made here at the Lodge!

We finally asked Aurdey what advice she would give to the younger generation, to which she answered, “Do the best you can, if you want to do something, put your mind to it and go for it.”

We are so lucky to have such an inspiring and youthful woman here with us at Lighthouse Lodge!
