Imelda’s Incredible Life

Imelda has had a wonderful life full of travel, love and adventure, where her journey began in Walton, Liverpool. Going into her teens, Imelda attended Notre Dame Catholic College School in Liverpool, where she was taught by Nuns and thoroughly enjoyed the music classes!

Going into her late teens, Imelda met a German man who she had a brief romance with. This is now someone she can call a lifelong friend!

When Imelda finished school, she landed her first job for a horticultural company where she was a Personal Assistant for an MD (Doctor of Medicine). This first job consisted of Imelda helping the MD make the best use of their time by assisting with various projects and handling all secretarial and administrative duties.

Later on in life, Imelda retired but still kept her mind busy by helping her husband with research for his job. Imelda’s husband was a local councillor and together they would attend civic functions in Liverpool Cathedral and Town Hall. In addition, throughout Imelda’s life, the one thing she is most proud of is assisting her husband through his illness.

Life at Lighthouse Lodge

Currently, Imelda is comfortably living at Lighthouse Lodge. She has made many friends and enjoys getting involved in all the activities we have to offer. She also can’t complain about the food our lovely chefs make every day, in Imelda’s words, ‘the food is good!’

We asked Imelda what advice she would give to the younger generation. To which she answered, “Act on advice given to you by the older generation that have been there and done it first.”

We wish Imelda all the future happiness here at Lighthouse Lodge! We are so grateful to have her here with us.
